Advocacy - “The act of pleading or arguing in favour of something, such as a cause, idea, or policy; active support.”
The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition

The IIF views it role as informing different global stakeholders and the general public about the plight of people with diabetes and especially children with Type 1 diabetes in developing countries. This is based on the IIF's in-country experience and close link to our local partners.

For this purpose it works closely with the World Health Organization and International Diabetes Federation. The International Diabetes Federation has launched the “unite for diabetes” campaign which succeeded in obtaining a United Nations resolution on diabetes, which the IIF supported.

For more information the IIF has prepared a factsheet that covers the main issues surrounding its work. Please pass this factsheet on to other people who may be interested in order to increase awareness of this problem.

Should you require any further information about the IIF and its activities, please fill in the form below.
